Get “On The Wall” with Vertical Ventures

Develop new skills and relationships. This hour long meet-up clinic aims to improve your technique, strength, and climbing skills through specific drills and movement. It’s a great opportunity to meet other climbers in your community and find new climbing partners. Each month showcases a specific theme and each week will explore variations on that theme.

June Theme: Ropes!

June 7th – Endurance Training w/ Logan
Been getting too pumped too fast while climbing ropes? This class is for all rope climbers who are looking to maximize their endurance on the wall. Whether it’s training for more endurance or working with what you’ve got, Logan will cover it all!
June 14th – Route Reading and Efficient Resting w/ Atti
Route-reading and resting are 2 crucial components to flashing and on-sighting a rope route! Sometimes figuring it out on-the-fly works great, but other times it’s best to figure out a plan and execute it while finding the best resting spots possible before even getting on the route! Atticus will be there to guide you through all the best practices when planning on completing your project, or attempting to complete a climb on your first try!
June 21 — All Things Lead w/Cody
Lead climbing can be quite daunting, there are so many components that go with it! Whether it’s clipping, falling, or belaying – Cody’s got you covered. Cody will go through the ins and outs of what it takes to perform at your best while you’re in the pit.
Pre-requisites: Lead certified or have taken the lead class.
June 28 — Crack Climbing 101 w/ Atti
Wanna learn how to climb a vertical crack face? Atticus teach you how to utilize basic toe jams, hand jams, and finger jams to climb crack. Bring some crack climbing gloves if you have them, otherwise tape will be provided

July Theme: OFF THE WALL

July 5 – Mobility & Stretching
Is your flexibility and mobility on the wall holding you back? We’ll go over some stretches to get your hips nice and open and allow you to get that high foot or comfortably perform that drop knee. We’ll also touch on some simple techniques to maximize your current level of flexibility. w/ Logan
July 12 – Building Strength Off The Wall
Join Cody to learn common exercises that will help you build strength for climbing and overall movement. We’ll talk about setting up a work out plan and how to organize it, with a preference towards climbing. Most climbers plateau once they build sufficient technique, and strength training will help you break through it! w/ Cody
July 19 – Tension Board Training
Feel the Tension with this nights On The Wall clinic, where we learn how to use the board, some techniques that will help you board climb, and how to maximize your session on the board. w/ Atticus 
July 26 – Maximizing Your Sessions: Creating a Training Plan
Learn to maximize your sessions, whether it’s planning your rests, making climbing drills, or incorporating workouts into your climbing. w/ Atticus
