Get “On The Wall” with Vertical Ventures
Develop new skills and relationships. This hour long meet-up clinic aims to improve your technique, strength, and climbing skills through specific drills and movement. It’s a great opportunity to meet other climbers in your community and find new climbing partners. Each month showcases a specific theme and each week will explore variations on that theme.
Theme: Wall Types
4/26 – Dihedral
Dihedrals or inverted corners can be an especially tricky wall type to navigate. These walls rely on presses and static movements to overcome. This class will focus on these techniques and more, giving you all the mental resources you need to conquer your next dihedral challenge. w/ Atticus
May Theme: Advanced Movement
5/3 – Coordination
Coordinating your movements on the wall can be quite a challenge, especially when it comes to more dynamic movements where you have limited time to position all of your limbs where they need to be to stick that next move. Come get some tips on how to do coordination dynos. w/ Atti
5/10 – Crack
Wanna learn how to climb a vertical crack face? We’ll teach you how to utilize basic toe jams, hand jams, and finger jams to climb crack. Bring some crack climbing gloves if you have them, otherwise tape will be provided. w/ Cody
5/17 – Heel and Toe Hooks
We’re taking a deep dive into the intricacies of heel hooking and toe hooking. We’ll learn how to actively engage our heel hooks and how to relax into a toe hook. You’ll also learn some more advanced toe hooking techniques like the bicycle and heel-toe-cam. w/ Atti
5/24 – Body Tension
Do you struggle with maintaining tension while on the wall? Do you feet pop off the holds constantly? Then join us in discussing all things body tension. We’ll learn how to keep tension in our body and also when it is more beneficial to release tension. w/ Logan
5/31 – Climber’s Choice
For this clinic we want to let you decide what we focus on. We’ll announce the theme of this night once the poll has concluded. w/ Logan
