Our 4 hour Outdoor Lead Class prepares you to take your climbing skills outside.

You’ll learn:

• Climbing: Outdoor Climbing Tips, Crag Ethics, Preparedness

• Belaying: Hazards of Belaying Outdoors, Lowering a Climber as they Clean the Route

• Cleaning: How to Properly Clean a Route

• Rappelling: How to Rappell

You’ll also learn:

• How to read a guide / topo

• Gear – how to rack your gear, how to place/clip/clean quick draws, use extendable slings

• Safety Considerations (Outside vs. Indoor)

• Dealing with Rope Drag

• Anchors – how to direct in, rigging a TR anchor, rappeling

• How to tie a Prusik Loop

Pre-requisites
Must be Lead certified or equivalent
Must be able to climb 5.9
Must have your own harness, shoes, and belay device (ATC or Gri Gri)
Must be 16 or older to Lead Climb or Lead Belay without adult supervision

$150 for Members | $170 for Non-Members
